Ariel Gaylinn never thought a job was too small and always gave 1000% to every opportunity.
No, there's not an extra zero in that number. Ariel gives her all to all that she does, and now she has a job many would consider a dream. She is the Manager of Partnership Marketing and Brand Strategy at Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment, owner of the New York Nets, New York Islanders, and Brooklyn Nets.
"I did so many different internships throughout college that weren't exactly what I wanted to be doing but, you never know who you might cross paths with, and for me, they all led to BIG things in my life," says Ariel.
She graduated from The George Washington University School of Business with a double major in Sports Management & Marketing. Her role at the sports marketing firm includes working with the corporate sponsors of the teams that play at the Barclays Center arena in Brooklyn, NY. She coordinates everything from signage at a game, tickets, and events, to player appearances and overall marketing strategy.
"I took many skills with me that I learned at American Heritage," Ariel says. From the interactive classroom experiences to critical thinking in her AP classes, she explains she was able to do very well in her classes at GWU and in her jobs and internships throughout college.
While at Heritage, Ariel was a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, yearbook, and she played on the varsity golf and volleyball teams.
The teacher who was most inspiring to Ariel was Mr. Rosen. "He encouraged me to become a leader inside the classroom and in all of the clubs he ran at the school. Although he is now retired, I still believe he left a real legacy at AHS!"
