Welcome from Johnpaul Moccia, Co-Chairman of Fine Arts
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the American Heritage Fine Arts Department. This international, national, state, regional, and district champion department welcomes you to our program.
We offer a complete fine arts curriculum in all disciplines. Our Visual Arts Department offers drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography, graphics, computer graphics, and architecture.
Instrumental courses include Orchestra, Guitar, Piano, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble.
Our Drama Department produces eight shows a year in addition to our regular classroom activities of acting, directing, technical theatre, and makeup design.
Our Vocal Department offers Women’s Chorus, Mixed Chorus, and A Cappella Chorus.
The Dance Department has classes for the beginner and the advanced student, culminating in an auditioned Dance Company.
We round out the music academics with Music Theory, AP Music Theory, and Music Technology We, as a teaching body, give all students numerous opportunities to display their talent, both on campus and across the state, nation, and world.
We insist that a student be a well-rounded talent by teaching foundational performance techniques and by employing a complete historical foundation in all disciplines of study.
Our low student/teacher ratio allows each individual to develop at his/her own level, whether the student is a beginner or an accomplished artist. The administration at American Heritage firmly believes in the fully developed student. They employ the arts as a teaching method beginning in the PK-4 classroom and maintain that commitment to the graduating senior, in 12th grade. I hope we have the opportunity to invest in your student’s life. If not, I hope we will see you at one of our concerts or shows this season.
