In an exclusive interview with Anthony Coons, we asked him how his time at AHS prepared him for the journey that lay ahead. He shared, “AHS set me up for success at the college level in many ways." Anthony highlighted the rigorous academic curriculum that AHS provided, including various Advanced Placement (AP) classes that allowed him to explore different studies and earn valuable college credits.
 
However, what truly set AHS apart for Anthony was the opportunity to build a diverse resume through extracurricular activities. His involvement in theatre, choir, science fairs, and even football equipped him with a wide range of skills. Anthony emphasized the profound impact of the theatre department, where he honed his auditioning skills, developed characters, and gained invaluable life lessons.
 
Proud Career Achievements
 
Anthony Coons has achieved remarkable success in his career. He reminisced about some of his proudest moments, including his co-star role in Ryan Murphy's Netflix series "Hollywood," in which he portrayed Guy Madison from the 1940s. He also mentioned his lead role as lemon farmer Josh Sweeting in "Love Under The Lemon Tree." Most recently, Anthony shot a guest star role for the STARZ drama series “Heels,” marking a significant milestone in his career.

Gratitude to AHS
 
When asked what he is most thankful for from his time at AHS, Anthony's response was heartfelt. He expressed deep gratitude for the fine arts and theatre department, which not only nurtured his passion for the arts but also led to lifelong friendships. His time at AHS was instrumental in shaping his career and personal growth. “On top of developing my love for what I’m now pursuing as a career, most importantly, I made some of the best lifelong friendships I could have ever asked for,” Anthony said.

Advice for Current AHS Students
 
Anthony's advice for current AHS students is simple but powerful: "Take advantage of everything that school has to offer." He encourages students to explore new interests, connect with diverse groups of people, and embrace opportunities, as they never know where these experiences may lead.
 
Beyond Acting: A Multifaceted Talent
 
Anthony Coons holds a degree in Economics from Florida State University (FSU). Although his career path diverged from his academic background, he notes that his economics degree has provided him with valuable perspectives on personal finance and decision-making. While in college he also performed in several productions with Theatre Tallahassee and Tallahassee Community College. Additionally, he starred in over 20 student films in the College of Motion Picture Arts. During this time, he also acted in his first regional equity performance of Shakespeare's "As You Like It" playing the lead role of Orlando and  performed in his first commercial.
 
When he's not on an acting job, Anthony is actively involved in the production side of the entertainment industry, working with an unscripted network TV production company. His versatility and willingness to explore different aspects of the industry showcase his dedication to the world of entertainment, including being a successful musician and singer.
 
Looking to the Future
 
When asked about his future plans, Anthony responded with a touch of humor. He reflected on a journal entry he wrote during his time at AHS, mentioning that he couldn't have predicted the radical changes in his life since then. He prefers to live in the moment and continue pursuing what satisfies and fulfills him. His openness to possibilities reflects the adventurous spirit that has fueled his career.
