High School Student Making History with the International Honor Society of Science and Engineering
Congratulations to Areesh Sobhani, Class of 2023, and Science Research & Pre-Engineering student who was awarded the President-Elect Student Award 2022 by Dr. Marija Strojnik, president-elect of Sigma Xi Research Society at the 2022 IFoRE Student Summit in Alexandria, Virginia!
This is the first time this award has gone to a High School student and is the highest honor awarded to a student by the Scientific Research Honor Society. The Sigma Xi Student Research Conference competition includes high school, undergraduate, and graduate students.
Areesh’s research titled was: “The development of a hand-free system to automate the control of guitar amplifier parameters.” His research presentation was selected from over 250 students who attended the four-day conference in Alexandria, Virginia to showcase research through poster and oral presentations. We are very proud of him and this accomplishment!
