Pre-Medical Students Throw Holiday Party For Pediatric Cancer Patients
Pre-Medical students of American Heritage Schools, from both Broward and Palm Beach Campus, were able to once again throw their annual Holiday Party for pediatric cancer patients at Broward Health after a 2-year pandemic hiatus. The event is a culmination of a semester of hard work, but the smiles on the faces of the children and their families makes all the effort totally worth it!
In October, the students dressed up in costumes of superheroes and cartoon characters that the kids would easily recognize and visited the hospital to throw a superhero party. They organized activities for the kids including writing a wish list of gifts they would like for Christmas.
With the help of the community, the students from the Pre-Medical Society raised over $10,000 to buy gifts for the kids who are part of the Salah Foundation Children's Hospital at Broward Health and grant their wishes during the holidays.
"We’ve been doing this for 18 years, since we started this relationship with the hospital,” said Dr. Carlos Pulido, Director of the Pre-Medical Program.
We are thankful that we are able to bring joy during the holidays to a very special population and their families.
