Absolutely phenomenal results emerged from this year’s Providence Mock Trial competition in Denver, Colorado! The members of the AHS Mock Trial Team showcased their dedication and impressive talent with their hard work in full display well-deserved recognitions for the entire team. 

 

When Mrs. Kelly Harris, a remarkable attorney and coach, received the coveted TOP COACH AWARD, the room erupted into a standing ovation from over 200 students, parents, and coaches. Mrs. Harris's passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to nurturing advocacy and social skills in her students have not only set an example but also elevated the team's performance to extraordinary heights. 

 

 

The AHS Mock Trial Team came together for a big win. Besides the top coach awards, they also won eight individual accolades, and each of the three teams was recognized. This accomplished group has once again proven its mettle in the world of Mock Trial. The Providence Cup is the nation’s premier mock trial tournament in which high school teams compete for prestigious awards.  The Cup prides itself on the fact that the Cup case is always based upon a fact pattern of historical significance (The Sinking of the Titanic, The Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping, The Murder of Emmett Till, The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln, the airline hijacking by DB Cooper) just to name a few.  The Cup uses a “tri-furcated” judging system (lawyers, law students, and lay people). Additionally, as coaches collectively state, the Cup is the perfect “kick-off” to the annual mock trial year.
