Mock Trial Team District Champions for 9th year in a Row

The returning Florida Mock Trial Champs win Palm Beach County Mock Trial Competition for the 9th year in a row! The Mock Trial team of American Heritage Schools, Palm Beach Campus, celebrated the district victory as the undefeated county Mock Trial team for the ninth consecutive year, advancing to the 2023 Florida High School Mock Trial State Finals Competition. 

American Heritage’s Mock Trial team of eight members, led by senior and team captain Jonah Samara, swept all three rounds of the competition for the 15th Judicial Circuit, held at the Palm Beach County Courthouse. Daniel Bednar, Class of 2023, came away with a Best Attorney award, while Sophia Reynoso, Class of 2025, won Best Witness.

ABOUT THE HIGH SCHOOL MOCK TRIAL PROGRAM

The Florida High School Mock Trial Program is sponsored by the Justice Teaching Center for Civic Learning and is named in honor of JTC founder, R. Fred Lewis. With 20 judicial circuits, a maximum of twenty teams may advance to the state finals. The winning state team is eligible to represent Florida in the National High School Mock Trial Championship held annually in different host states.
