We are overjoyed to share the incredible success of our Mock Trial team as they opened the 23-24 season with a bang, at the Florida State University (FSU) Sunshine State Showdown. 

 

Anna Shullman shines with the Highest-Ranked Attorney award, showing her remarkable legal skills. Her dedication and expertise truly stood out. Sophia Reynoso testifies her way to the Top Witness award Sophia Reynoso, with her compelling testimony. Her performance on the stand was nothing short of outstanding.

 

This season's journey began with a remarkable achievement securing an impressive 4th place ranking.

 

A massive round of applause goes to our Coach Adam McMichael, whose unwavering support, guidance, teachings, and humor have been invaluable in shaping our students' success. Mrs. Porter and Mr. McMichael couldn't be prouder of our exceptional students for their professional and strong performances in this season's opener. Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off. 

 

 

Mock Trial competitions offer students a unique opportunity to develop critical thinking, public speaking, and legal skills. These experiences not only prepare them for potential careers in law but also equip them with valuable life skills. Through competition, students learn to construct compelling arguments, think on their feet, and build confidence in their abilities.

 

The awards earned by Anna Shullman and Sophia Reynoso symbolize the dedication and talent of our Mock Trial team members. These accolades not only recognize their outstanding abilities but also inspire them to continue striving for excellence in future competitions. The Mock Trial program at AHS is not just about winning awards; it's about nurturing the growth and development of our students as future leaders and advocates for justice.

Hosted by the Florida State University Mock Trial program, the Sunshine State Showdown is an invitational tournament made just for high school competitors. Each team is given a case packet (not affiliated with FLREA) to read, practice, and compete with as a test of skills before the District, State, and National competition(s).
