#2 Private School in the U.S. in Math Competition

83 Awards Achieved at National Math Convention

2024 PB Math National Competition

American Heritage Schools, Palm Beach Campus, made an impressive mark at the Mu Alpha Theta National Convention held in Las Vegas, Nevada, clinching an astounding 83 awards. Competing against some of the brightest mathematical minds from across the nation, the students showcased their exceptional skills, bringing home numerous top honors in individual and team categories. The math team achieved 3rd place in the prestigious Sweepstakes category, solidifying their position as one of the top-performing schools in the nation, and the #2 Private School in the U.S. in Math Competition.

Among the standout performances, two students claimed first place in their respective categories: Richard Schulz earned 1st place in the highly competitive Mu Applications category and Sonya Singh took 1st place in Alpha Matrices and Vectors. These victories reflect the rigorous academic environment at American Heritage Schools, where students are encouraged to excel in complex mathematical concepts and real-world applications.

The team also demonstrated remarkable teamwork, earning multiple accolades in team events. The school’s delegation captured 2nd place in the Hustle and Relay events. Additionally, the Interschool team secured a 5th place finish, while the school’s creativity was on display with a 3rd place award in the Poster category.

The convention also honored the unwavering commitment of the school’s Mu Alpha Theta sponsor, Derek Rampal, with the Sister Scholastica Award. This award, named after Sister Scholastica, recognizes sponsors who have shown exceptional dedication to their chapters. Mr. Rampal's leadership and passion have been instrumental in guiding the students to their remarkable success, making this recognition a fitting tribute to his efforts.

This year's performance at the Mu Alpha Theta National Convention serves as yet another example of the commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders in STEM. Congratulations to all the students, sponsors, and faculty who contributed to this remarkable achievement!

About Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School Honor Society. It is dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics. Currently, more than 100,000 students are Mu Alpha Theta members at more than 2,420 schools in the United States and in 23 foreign countries. It provides a method for schools to recognize and encourage students who enjoy and excel in mathematics. It organizes a national convention for students and teachers to participate in math-related events and interact with others from across the country. It rewards outstanding extracurricular achievement by offering special awards, scholarships, and grants to students and their faculty advisers. It provides mathematics competitions to participating members at their own school through the Rocket City Math League and the Mathematical Minutes Video Contest.
