Fine Arts Students Shine at Musical Theater Gala with Two Wins and Multiple Nominations

The Fine Arts Department at American Heritage Schools, Palm Beach Campus, celebrated a night of significant achievements at the 23rd Annual South Florida Cappies Gala, held this past Monday evening. The Cappies organization is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating excellence in high school theatre across the region, and American Heritage students were prominently featured among the honorees.
Out of six impressive nominations, our students proudly took home two prestigious Cappies Awards. Sofia Jorgensen won the award for Comedic Actor in a Female Role in a Musical for her outstanding performance. Additionally, the exceptional teamwork of Jonathan Jacknow, Laila Thaler Sucher, and the entire crew earned them the Cappies Award for Stage Management & Crew in a Musical.

The breadth of talent within the fine arts program was further evidenced by several other nominations. These included Andrew Auster & Simone Zickl for Sound in a Musical; Jack O'Donnell, Sophia Luque & crew for Lighting in a Musical; Jade Keskinen for Props in a Musical; and Jonathan Jacknow (who also won for Stage Management) for Junior Critic.

Special recognition was also given to students for their dedicated work throughout the Cappies season. Olivia Thompson was honored as a Critic Commendee, while Roshni Katragadda and Constantina Lambrou received Show Commendee recognitions. Furthermore, Jonathan Jacknow and Hudson Pawlowski had the honor of being Opening Number Performers at the gala.

These awards and nominations highlight the dedication, talent, and hard work of the students and faculty within the fine arts department. Congratulations to all the winners, nominees, and recognized students for their remarkable contributions to high school theatre!
