Drama Troupe Earned Six Superiors at 2026 Florida State Festival

The American Heritage Schools, Palm Beach Campus, theater department recently returned from a successful trip to the 2026 Florida Thespians Senior State Festival. Held from March 18–21 in Tampa, this event gathered the top high school talent from across the state at venues including the Straz Center for the Performing Arts and the Tampa Convention Center. Troupe 6007 represented the school with a series of high-level performances, earning top honors and professional recognition.
The troupe started the week with a powerful presentation of their one-act, The Last Five Years. The production earned a Superior Rating, the highest possible score at the state level. Additionally, the technical crew received a Perfect Tech Score, acknowledging the precision and hard work of the students behind the scenes. This performance set a strong tone for the rest of the festival's individual events.
Our student actors and technicians participated in "Thespy" events, which are adjudicated by theater professionals from across the country. The results for the Palm Beach Campus were as follows:
- Leilani Kellerman: Solo Musical (Superior Rating & Top Honors Distinction)
- Noa Anker & Sara Israel: Duet Acting Scene (Superior Rating)
- Jonathan Jacknow & Miriam Smith: Duet Musical (Superior Rating)
- Sophia Luque: Stage Management (Superior Rating)
- Valentina Patrignani: Solo Musical (Superior Rating)
- Theo Burton & Domenick Swanson: Duet Musical (Excellent Rating)
Leilani Kellerman’s "Top Honors" distinction is a rare achievement, given only to a select few performers who demonstrate elite mastery of their craft among thousands of participants.
Beyond the competitive events, Troupe 6007 attended master classes and workshops led by industry experts. These sessions allowed our students to refine their skills in both performance and technical theater. The festival also provided a space for students to bond with peers who share their passion for the arts.
Directed by Mrs. Mignacca and Ms. Carter, the troupe showed incredible support for one another throughout the week. The Palm Beach Campus remains committed to providing these professional-level opportunities for our students to grow as artists and leaders. We congratulate every member of Troupe 6007 for their dedication to the performing arts.
