World Champion & Top 10 Awards at International Business Competition

Business students from American Heritage Schools, Palm Beach Campus, demonstrated exceptional business acumen at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) held in Orlando, Florida. This year, the ICDC Conference was the largest ever, bringing together over 25,000 students and advisors from across the globe, including international chapters from China, Slovakia, and Japan, to compete in over 50 different business events.

Nineteen students from the Palm Beach Campus participated in a variety of competitions, ranging from Shark-Tank style presentations to role-playing business scenarios in front of judges. Achieving recognition at this international level is incredibly challenging, and American Heritage Schools is immensely proud of all the students who represented the school.

Two students earned the prestigious title of ICDC Finalists, achieving top honors for their outstanding performance:

  • Nishka Bishen (Freshman) placed 1st in the World in the Principles of Hospitality & Tourism Event, marking Florida DECA's only first-place win at the ICDC this year.
  • Siyuan Du (Junior) placed in the Top 10 in the World in the Accounting Applications Event.

In addition to the finalists, two other students received special distinction for their success in specific components of their competitions:

  • Jennifer Belton (Senior) received Testing Distinction, placing her in the Top 10 testing scores within her competitive event.
  • Lilly Nguyen (Senior) received Testing & Role Play Distinction, placing her in the Top 10 testing and role-play #1 scores within her competitive event.
