Junior Gabriella Geer was recently recognized for her exceptional musicality at the prestigious "Colors of Chopin" International Competition. Competing against a global field of advanced pianists, Gabriella secured three distinct honors, confirming the high level of artistry fostered within our fine arts department.

National and International Distinctions

The "Colors of Chopin" International Competition evaluates participants on technical precision, stylistic interpretation, and emotional depth in performing the works of Frédéric Chopin. Gabriella’s performances across multiple categories earned top-tier placement from the international jury.

Her awards include:

  • Senior Silver Prize
  • Waltz Silver Prize
  • Etude Silver Prize

Securing placements in both the Waltz and Etude categories highlights Gabriella's versatility. The Chopin Etudes are widely regarded as some of the most technically demanding pieces in the classical piano repertoire, requiring immense finger independence and technical mastery, while the Waltzes demand sophisticated phrasing and rhythmic control.
