#1 School in Florida for National Merit Scholars Semifinalists

The Class of 2026 has a total of 57 students who were named National Merit Scholars Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC)®.

American Heritage Schools’ Broward Campus is making headlines as a powerhouse of academic achievement. For the highest number of National Merit Scholar Semifinalists, the campus ranks #1 in Florida among all private and public schools and #2 among private schools nationwide. This prestigious honor was achieved by an impressive 1 in 7 students in the Class of 2026.

57 students from the Broward campus were named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists, placing them among the top 1% of high school seniors nationwide. These outstanding students now have the opportunity to compete for Merit Scholarship® awards.

The school's academic excellence extends beyond the semifinalist list. An additional 60 seniors were recognized as National Commended Scholars for their exceptional academic promise, a distinction reserved for the top two-thirds of the 50,000 highest scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT.

American Heritage Schools’ commitment to excellence is a statewide success story. The Broward and Palm Beach campuses hold the #1 and #2 spots in Florida for the most National Merit Scholar Semifinalists. Together, these two campuses account for a remarkable 9% of all National Merit Scholar Semifinalists in the state, solidifying their reputation as leaders in education and student achievement. Furthermore, 315 seniors were recognized under the College Board National Recognition Program, which includes National School Recognition, which recognizes students who score in the top 10% of their high school's test takers or score a 3+ on two or more distinct AP exams by 10th grade, and designation awards which honor students who are African American, Hispanic, Indigenous, or First-Generation.
