The Arabic Club and their efforts to support the Beirut Explosion relief.

The Arabic club in partnership with Beirut For Social Development worked on a project during the summer. Their 3rd 40-foot container was sent to Lebanon, and they had the opportunity to actually distribute the items there during the summer as part of their efforts to support Beirut Explosion Relief.

In June 2021, Noor Al Zahraa Hachem organized many warehouse days to pack, palletize, sort, and collect donations. The Arabic Club sent out supplies, and Noor and Moe volunteered in Lebanon during July to help out. With their younger sibling, Reda (6th grade), they also bought other necessities locally and distributed them to a list of people in need.

They raised over $45,000 in canned and dry food as well as hygiene supplies to ship in three containers to Lebanon in a year's time, They also collected other used items like wheelchairs and strollers. Their project to help Beirut impacted over 15,000 families and a clinic.

Take a look at some of the moments where you can see Noor, Moe, Narjis, Ryan, Faiz, Angelina, and Frank taping and packing the boxes at the warehouse in Little Haiti to fill the 40 ft foot container that was shipped at the end of June. They met there many times to accomplish this relief effort and Noor and Moe had the opportunity to be at the explosion site in Beirut. The club advisor is Darryl Trowbridge.
