Students Collected 1,500 Hygiene Items for Jamaica Hurricane Relief

The Caribbean Student Association successfully organized a Hurricane Relief Hygiene Drive to support SOS Children’s Villages in Jamaica. Led by Kellen Crichton (Co-President) and Rhaina Jean-Baptiste (Vice President), the initiative responded to the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
The school community demonstrated great generosity during the drive, donating more than 1,500 hygiene items. These essential supplies included toothpaste, shampoo, soap, baby wipes, and underwear. The collection provided immediate aid to children whose homes and resources were impacted by the storm.
This relief effort was part of the ongoing Goals for Growth: Jamaica project. Founded by Kellen and Rhaina, the project focuses on expanding access to sports and physical activity for children in foster homes across Jamaica. The founders started the mission with the conviction that sports can inspire and empower kids through inclusive field days that build confidence and teamwork.
The success of the hygiene drive confirmed the impact that student leaders can make during a crisis. The Goals for Growth team planned to continue their work in Jamaica by promoting healthy lifestyles and providing sports gear to foster homes.
