Math Invitational Inspires Over 80 Young Girls in STEM

The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Club organized and held its fourth annual elementary math invitational competition. This event brought together over 80 girls from grades 3 to 5 to participate in a day of academic challenges and mathematical problem-solving. The competition provided a supportive environment where young students applied their skills to a rigorous test designed by the high school club members.

The event focused on encouraging interest in STEM for girls and building a community of young mathematicians. Students from American Heritage Schools, Broward Campus, performed exceptionally well, securing several top placements across all three grade levels. By hosting this annual invitational, the AWM Club helped connect elementary students with older mentors, creating a pathway for continued success in mathematics and competitive academics. The day concluded with an award ceremony where the participants were celebrated for their dedication and critical thinking abilities.
