Visual Artists Win National Scholastic Art Awards

The Fine Arts Department from American Heritage Schools, Broward Campus, achieved exceptional success at the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. After securing Gold Keys at the regional level, our student-artists advanced to the national stage to compete against the most talented creative teens in the country. Three of our visual artists earned national medals for their work, which stood out for originality, technical skill, and personal vision.

Victoria Tortolani Ramos earned the highest possible recognition in the program. Her piece, “Mother’s Love,” received a National Gold Medal and the prestigious American Visions Award. This honor is reserved for only one student per geographic region, marking her work as the top selection from her entire area. Mou Petrov also achieved elite status, earning a National Gold Medal for the work titled “Vitality.” 

National Gold Medals are awarded to less than 1% of all submissions, placing these students among the top young artists in the United States.

Tyler Blum received a National Silver Medal for the artwork “Emptiness.” This award recognizes work that demonstrates high levels of artistic proficiency and a unique creative voice.

As National Medalists, these students and their educators received an invitation to the national ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City. This star-studded event celebrates the achievements of young creators and provides a platform for them to connect with professionals in the art world.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation’s longest-running recognition program for creative teenagers. By winning these national awards, our students join a prestigious group of alumni who have gone on to lead successful careers in the arts and sciences. We congratulate our visual artists for their hard work and for representing the Broward Campus on the national stage.
