Top Honors for Visual Art Students at City of Plantation Art Search
The American Heritage Schools, Broward Campus, celebrated a successful night as several visual artists earned top awards at the City of Plantation K-12 Art Search. This year, the competition followed the theme “Stars, Stripes, and Natural Wonders” in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Our students translated this patriotic and environmental theme into award-winning pieces that will now be viewed by the local community throughout the coming year.
The young artists attended a special awards ceremony at Volunteer Park, where they met Mayor Nick Sortal. The Mayor presented the students with ribbons and prizes for their creative contributions. The Broward Campus team had a strong presence at the event, securing seven 1st place wins along with the most prestigious titles of the night: Best in Show and the Most Promising Award.
The impact of this competition goes beyond the ceremony. The winning artwork was selected to be displayed at Plantation community centers all year long. This public exhibition provides a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to see the technical skill and unique perspectives of our K-12 artists.
We congratulate our talented winners for their hard work and for representing the Broward Campus so well in the local community. Their ability to capture the spirit of the nation and the beauty of its natural wonders resulted in a successful night for the entire fine arts department.
