Jr. Thespians Earn 26 Superior Ratings, Advance to State Festival

Thirty-eight Junior High School students from the Jr. Thespian Troupe at the Broward Campus brought their A-game to the recent District Theatre Festival, delivering a strong performance that highlighted their exceptional student talent and dedication. This talented delegation competed across 32 events, using their skills in both performance theatre and technical theatre disciplines.

This strong participation resulted in numerous top honors, affirming the Broward Campus troupe's reputation for theatre excellence. The students collectively achieved an impressive 26 Superior ratings, which immediately qualify them to advance to the State Thespian Festival. This significant number of State-bound students marks a successful competitive cycle for the program.

The troupe also achieved 6 Excellent ratings and 1 Honorable Mention, alongside their Superior scores. The AHS Theatre Program credits this success to the expert guidance and leadership of advisors Ms. Alyssa Fantel and Ms. Mary Gundlach. Their instruction was crucial in preparing the students for the demands of theatre competition, helping them to enhance their abilities in both performance and technical roles.
