Drama Troupe Earns 4 Critics’ Choice and 55 Top Awards at District Competition

The Fine Arts Department celebrated a successful day at the District 13 Thespians Individual Events. Members of Troupe 3814 participated in 50 different events, bringing home a wide range of awards and honors that confirmed the strength of the school's theatre program.
The troupe delivered impressive performances under the guidance of mentors Mr. Brett Scott, Mr. Clay Cartland, Mr. Ron Hutchins, Mr. Daniel Bates, Mrs. Alyiece Moretto-Watkins, and Mrs. Ashley Hyde. The students achieved a total of 36 Superior ratings and 14 Excellent ratings. In addition to these scores, the troupe earned four Critics’ Choice awards and five Honorable Mentions. These results demonstrated the skill and artistic dedication of the performing arts students.
Six specific events earned the opportunity to represent the school at the State competition in March. The following students and events moved forward:

- The Cast of Company: Large Group Musical (Luken Aldazabal, Olivia Cassano, Robert Curtis, Taylor Curtis, Gabriel Del Carpio, Lindsay Dokson, Alanah Felix, Andrea Gonzalez Perez, Nandu Kuttiyil, Sofia Lopez, Diana Ramos Salinas, and Matthew Squeri)
- Luca Mejia: Scenic Design
- Paloma Arrigui Villarreal: Costume Design
- Olivia Diez: Make-Up Design
The success of Troupe 3814 at the district level confirmed the skill and the dedication students have to their craft. The school community congratulates the performers and technicians as they begin their preparations for the next stage of competition.
