Meet Kelly Bennett, Director of Guidance/International Counselor

Name: Kelly Bennett

Role/Position at AHS: Director of Guidance/International Counselor

Years at AHS: 21

Most memorable experience at AHS: Oh my gosh, there are so many! My most embarrassing experience would be my infamous fall in Harvard Square while chaperoning a huge college tour with Mrs. Blum (Ms. Ackerman at the time)! I bounced right back up, even though my pants were ripped and my knee was bleeding (and my little red flip phone went sprawling across the street and was all scratched up). Graduates who remember this are nearly 30 years old, which tells you how long ago this happened (in case the flip phone didn’t give it away)! Lol!!

Favorite hobbies outside of school: Yoga, watching sports with my family, going to the beach

Any notable achievements outside of school?: My major professional achievements have been at AHS. I have spent most of my career here.

Children’s name and grade and/or when they graduated from AHS? (if applicable): Austin & Jacob Bennett (11th graders)

Favorite Quote: “Stop that rhyming now, I mean it. Anybody want a peanut?” -Princess Bride (Oops, was I supposed to quote something profound?)

Something that surprise us about you: I was a diving coach at AHS!

Other Comments: I changed my college major 3 times (from biomedical engineering to English to Education). The good news is that I discovered what I am passionate about, and I have enjoyed doing it for over 20 years. My advice is that whatever you decide to do in life, make sure you love it!
