#1 School in Florida in State Science Fair

Two students, Angelin Mathew and Rajat Ramesh, from the American Heritage Schools Science Research program qualified to compete at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) competition. This is the world's largest international pre-college science competition. Angelin Mathew placed 2nd in the world in her category "Material Science" winning $1500, and Rajat Ramesh placed 4th in the world in his category "Energy-chemical" winning $500.

Each year, approximately 1,800 high school students from more 80 countries, regions, and territories are awarded the opportunity to present their independent research to doctoral level scientists and compete for more than $5 million in prizes.

Fifteen AHS students advanced to the state competition after winning 1st Place and other top awards at the county level. Many students begin their research at the Heritage Science Research Institute over the summer and continue their studies through the school year. Our biosafety level two labs are equipped with the tools, resources, and faculty students need to elevate their research to the highest levels.
