#1 Private School in the U.S. in Math Competition
The Math Team from American Heritage Schools, Broward Campus, recently showcased its unrivaled excellence at the 2024 Mu Alpha Theta National Convention held in Las Vegas, Nevada. 52 dedicated Patriot Mathletes braved the scorching 110° heat of the Mojave Desert to continue their remarkable streak of success, maintaining their status as the #1 Private School in the nation for math. This year’s convention was particularly historic, with Yusuf Sheikh, Class of 2025, achieving a monumental feat by sweeping EVERY event he entered! For only the second time in the school’s history, Yusuf Sheikh claimed first place in all his events, demonstrating an extraordinary level of skill and dedication. His perfect performances included first-place finishes in both individual and team ciphering tests.
The convention was a significant milestone for our math program, with individual competitors delivering exceptional performances. The accomplishments were further highlighted by our victory in the Poster Contest. Alina Sukhovskaya, along with other team members, delivered a stunning work of art that earned first place, marking another historic moment for American Heritage Schools.
Overall, our Patriot Mathletes earned an impressive total of 156 trophies, with 106 of these accolades in the top ten nationally, staying as the top private school in the nation for Math and the 2nd Place Overall in Sweepstakes. This outstanding achievement underscores the depth of talent within our program and the effectiveness of our rigorous math curriculum.
The results from the 2024 Mu Alpha Theta National Convention further solidify American Heritage Schools’ reputation for math excellence. These remarkable achievements exemplify our commitment to academic rigor and student success. Congratulations to all the participating students, teachers, and math enthusiasts who contributed to this outstanding performance. Go Patriots!
