The Mock Trial Team from American Heritage Schools, Broward Campus, has once again showcased their exceptional talent and dedication, securing a remarkable placement at the National High School Mock Trial Championship held in Delaware at the beginning of May. Out of 48 teams competing nationwide, AHS Broward achieved an outstanding Top 5 placement, marking a historic moment as the highest placement ever attained by a Florida team in the history of the National Mock Trial Championship. Moreover, the team clinched the prestigious title of #1 Private School in the Nation in Mock Trial, an extraordinary feat that underscores their unparalleled excellence and skill in the legal arena.

 

Among the many accolades earned by the team, Junior Matthew Rodriguez emerged as a shining star, winning the esteemed title of Best Attorney in the United States. Earlier this year, Matthew also won Best Attorney at the Florida Moot Court Finals, and, along with Jake Zeng, won the Florida Moot Court Competition. Rodriguez's stellar performance further solidifies American Heritage Broward's reputation as a powerhouse in mock trial competitions.

 

The team's success wouldn't have been possible without the relentless dedication and guidance of their coaches. Lead coach Michael Gilfarb, a seasoned veteran in mock trial coaching, played a pivotal role in preparing the team for the national stage, ensuring that they were equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel. Joining Gilfarb was newcomer Jason Glusman, whose fresh perspective and expertise contributed significantly to the team's success. Additionally, coach Adam McMichael's invaluable support and mentorship further bolstered the team's performance, highlighting the collaborative effort that fueled their journey to success.
