Welcome to the Home of the Stallions!
As you browse our web site, you will no doubt notice that we have a wide range of athletic activities for both boys and girls in grades 6 - 12, as well as Middle School, grades 6 - 8. We offer competitive sports opportunities in the following sports:

- Boys and Girls Volleyball
- Boys and Girls Golf
- Boys and Girls Basketball
- Boys and Girls Soccer
- Boys and Girls Tennis
- Boys and Girls Track and Field
- Water polo
Our major objectives are to teach responsibility, discipline, time management and the spirit of competition and good sportsmanship, all within a close knit family environment.
Our coaching staff, with a combination of over 100 years of coaching experience, has the capabilities necessary to lead student athletes through their years of athletic competition at American Heritage and beyond.
Each year we have number of student athletes that receive financial help for their college education based on their athletic ability and their performance in our athletic programs. More importantly, however, for those who do not have the ability, or maybe desire, to participate at the collegiate level, we offer a very enjoyable and memorable experience in accomplishments and relationships that will last a lifetime.
We compete as a member of the Florida High School Activities Association and our athletics programs are consistently ranked in the Top 10 in the state of Florida!

About Laney Stearns
Coach Laney Stearns has been involved with our athletic program at the Plantation campus since 1998 as an assistant coach and a head coach for several sports including winning state championships in football 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 and girls track and field 2010, 2011, 2012 and boys track and field 2012, 2014. In that time, he has proven himself to be a skilled and effective leader who understands, supports, and advances the mission, values, and vision of athletics at American Heritage School. He brings a wealth of knowledge in athletics and also an extensive background in leadership and management.
Outside of AHS, Mr. Stearns has served as Plantation Athletic League Commissioner of Football (1986-1996), President (over all of the sports programs) (1996-1999); American Youth Football League President (1996), (2004-2008), and Florida Youth Athletic Association Chairman of the Board (2005-2012).
In addition Mr. Stearns has had extensive administrative experience over a long and distinguished career with the City of Lauderhill Fire Department (1977-1999) and the City of Plantation Fire Department (2001-2018) serving at the highest levels including as Captain, Battalion Chief and Fire Chief.
