These students are among the 50,000 highest-scoring participants of 1.5 million program entrants. Semi-finalist students who reach Finalist status in February of 2013 are eligible for college scholarships offered by Merit Scholarship, corporations and colleges.

Recognition is based on the scores earned on the PSAT which students are required to take as juniors. In addition, qualified students are named National Hispanic Scholars or National Achievement Scholars based on the same test. We congratulate all of them on their accomplishments.

Talent Show Benefits Multiple Sclerosis

On March 8, Ashley Hampton hosted The 4th Annual Multiple Sclerosis Fundraiser Talent Show. In honor of her grandmother, she has been actively fighting MS by organizing this event in the hopes it will continue to grow and raise funds. Collectively, with the help of her friends, family and the Pre-med Club, Ashley has raised about $8,000 for Multiple Sclerosis Medical Research. The Talent Show was a huge success and brought students and families together for an incredible cause. Students showcased their talents from singing to dancing—providing outstanding entertainment for the night! Congratulations to the prize winner of $100, Bryan Inerfeld, who truly sang his heart out to “Hallelujah.” Ashley hopes to continue this fundraiser as a senior in the school year of 2013-2014 and pass the event down to someone who also has a passion to get one step closer to finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
