American Heritage Center for the Arts is pleased to present its SPRING SEASON!
Starting the season is the High School play, Almost, Maine. The publisher says,
“On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and hearts mend -- almost -- in this delightful midwinter night's dream.” Show dates are February 21 – 24 at 7:00 PM and February 26 at 2:00 PM in our Studio Theatre. Tickets are $17 for Adults and $12 for students (6th grade & lower). Upper School students and all faculty receive a free ticket with their school ID.
The next show on our calendar is the Jr. High play Afflicted: Daughters of Salem. This original story tells of the events that led up to the infamous Salem Witch Trials, exploring how girls have negotiated alliances and power throughout history, just as they do today. Based on historical records, this play imagines the story of these Salem girls and what led them to accuse their friends and neighbors. Show dates are March 9 - 11 at 7:00 PM in our Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $17 for Adults and $12 for students (6th grade & lower). Upper School students and all faculty receive a free ticket with their school ID.
Closing out our season, the High School will perform the Tony Award winning musical Guys and Dolls! Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy is about a couple of big city gamblers. Nathan Detroit has been engaged to nightclub performer, Adelaide, for fourteen years, while fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, is chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown. The show takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but everyone ends up right where they belong. Guys and Doll is a crowd pleaser and appropriate for audiences of any age. Show dates are April 5 - 8 at 7:00 PM in our Main Theatre. Tickets are $17 for Adults and $12 for students (6th grade & lower). Upper School students and all faculty receive a free ticket with their school ID.
The box office is located in the lobby of the Main Theatre, and is open every school day from 11:45 - 1:00 PM. Tickets can be PURCHASED (not free tickets) on line at http://ahschool.tix.com
