American Heritage Center for the Arts is pleased to present its FALL SEASON!
Starting the season is the High School play, The Importance of Being Earnest. Edwardian England meets the 60's. Oscar Wilde's farcical comedy, "The Importance of Being Earnest," skewers Victorian England as he confronts the social conventions of that era, from communication to marriage to sexuality. As the AHS Junior and Senior cast brings to life "The Importance of Being Earnest," they pit the older generation's concept of manners and tradition squarely against the younger generation's pursuit of love and pleasure. The labyrinthine of true love must inevitably emerge victorious, despite the hilariously aggravating and seemingly insurmountable complications that threaten to trip it up along the way. We welcome you to enjoy our revisitation of "The Importance of Being Groovy".... or should we say "Earnest.
Show dates are October 18 - 21 at 7:00 PM in our Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $17 for Adults and $12 for students (6th grade & lower). Upper School students and all faculty receive a free ticket with their school ID.
The next show on our calendar is the Jr. High play All Because of Agatha. The publisher says, “Filled with bright, funny dialogue and a cast of thoroughly delightful characters, the play deals with the hilarious plight of a young couple who move into a centuries-old house, only to find that it is haunted by a distressingly capricious, maddeningly tenacious yet undeniably appealing witch.” Come join us, it should be a fun time for all ages.

Closing out our Fall Season, the High School will perform 35 MM: a Musical Exhibition. The author summarizes it this way, “A picture is worth 1,000 words — what about a song? Can a picture inspire a song or fifteen? In 35mm, each photo creates a unique song, moments frozen in time; a glimmer of a life unfolding, a glimpse of something happening. A stunning new multimedia musical which explores a groundbreaking new concept in musical theatre... This intricately woven collection of stories told through song re-imagines what the modern American musical can be.” Join us as our stage will be turned into a Rock Concert for this edgy and exciting contemporary musical.
