Under the leadership of Department Chair Brad Tremper and his talented faculty members, students benefit greatly from an expansive Fine Arts program at all grade levels. While many schools have abandoned the arts due to budgeting shortfalls, Heritage continues to give students every opportunity to showcase their talents and explore new ones in the areas of art, music and drama. The recent production of Blithe Spirit is a great example of how much our students can achieve when given opportunities to express themselves.

A couple of months into the school year, the Theatre Department and Troupe 6007 have already made a very positive impression with their production of Blithe Spirit. Opening last month, Blithe Spirit is a British comedy that tells the story of a writer who accidentally has a spiritual medium call back his first wife. The wife proceeds to wreak havoc on the writer and his second wife! The cast included Taylor Capizola, Molly Cohen, Anthony Coons, Cayley Costello, Noelle Filippone and Joshua Lerner.
Thespians troupe 6007 is working on ideas for their One Act Competition and getting their Individual Events pieces together. The troupe continues to raise money to support the Thespian Society and Broadway Equity Fights AIDs.
The Senior Showcase class has begun preparing for the second show of the season, Chorus Line. Each day they learn new dance moves and new songs to prepare for this show that opens in mid- December. Performers have much to look forward to during second semester. The last two shows of the 2012-2013 season will be Lend Me a Tenor and Legally Blonde. Along with those two amazing shows, there’s also the Florida Thespian State Festival, which will take place in March, Spring Fling, and many other fun events along the way!
