Mission and Beliefs Statement

Our mission at American Heritage School is to graduate students who are prepared in mind, body and spirit to meet the requirements of the colleges of their choice. To this end, we strive to offer a challenging college preparatory curriculum, opportunities for leadership, and superior programs in the arts and athletics. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for learning so that children of average to gifted intelligence may achieve their full potential to be intelligent, creative and contributing members of society.

Beliefs:

1) We believe teachers, parents and students all share responsibility in the educational process.

2) We believe a progressive, sequential curriculum develops critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities, and life-long learning.

3) We believe students should be provided with a safe and nurturing environment.

4) We believe learning is enhanced through utilization of the latest technology and resources.

5) We believe community involvement and service benefits both the student and the community.

6) We believe character education and modeling instill positive values.

7) We believe students can reach their potential by providing them with a variety of opportunities to learn and succeed.

8) We believe a diverse student body teaches and models the necessity of human interdependence and one's role in a global society.

9) We believe all students are unique and have special talents and abilities.

10) We believe the future of a democratic society lies in the development of the hearts and minds of its children.
