Lower School Music Programs

School Year 2008-2009

Strings grades 1,2,3 and 4

Students will learn to play the VIOLIN in this exposure program taught by Mrs. Ellen Ways, String Specialist & Orchestra Director of the Award-winning program at American Heritage.

Students will receive a  weekly group class in lieu of General Music. If scheduling permits, students may be able to participate in both General Music & Beginning Strings.

Although there is no fee for this class, participants are required to obtain their own instruments for HOME PRACTICE! Practice effort is a direct  factor of success!

Instruments are available for rent or purchase from All-County Music- the local expert on small-sized violins (954-722-3424). PLEASE take your student to the store for proper sizing Questions?? Call Mrs. Ways at (954) 472-0022 ext 3271

Students will be required to practice at home a minimum of three times weekly. Prior to renting a violin for this class it is recommended that you make certain your student's schedule permits consistent practice.

Concurrent enrollment in the after-school Keyboarding class is highly discouraged at this level. Please select ONE instrument for your beginning student.
