Whether researching a subject or simply looking for a book to read, your search will most likely begin with the catalog. Begin by selecting the Upper School Catalog. This catalog -- which is searchable by subject, title or author -- lists the holdings of the Upper School Library.
At American Heritage and Academy Library the catalog listings include books, periodicals, magazine and journal reprints, reference materials, pamphlets, audio cassettes and videos -- and in some cases, vertical files -- with each item appearing as a separate entry.
A combination of numbers and / or letters, known collectively as the call number, will appear with an entry in the catalog. This is meant to identify the location of the material. And, a "j" at the beginning of an entry will indicate juvenile -- or lower school.
