ANNOUNCING PERFORMING ARTS SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS:

American Heritage Fine Arts Department announces Fine Arts Scholarship auditions for the school year 2008-2009. All students of exceptional skill are invited to audition in one or more of the following areas: All Band Instruments: Dance: Musical Theatre: and Vocal Performance. A student must be graduating from the 8th grade with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and entering into the 9th grade. The audition requirements are listed below for each discipline they must be adhered to exactly. Audition appointments will be set beginning February 1, 2008 by calling Mr. Usher at 954-472-0022 Ext 3230. The actual audition will be March 17 for Music Theatre & Vocal Performance; March 18 for all Dance candidates and March 19th for all Band Instruments. These are the ONLY days scholarship candidates will be seen. The requirements are as follows:

Band:
Middle School All-State Piece Ex. 1
(As listed on FBA website for 2007 www.flmusiced.org/fba)
12 Major Scales
Chromatic Scale for the range of the instrument
Solo from this past year's FBA Solo and Ensemble.
Sight Reading

Dance:
• 20 minute = Written Terminology Test 
• 90 minute = dance audition = Full ballet barre & Jazz combo
• Prepare a 2 minutes solo, any style. This piece MUST be choreographed by the student.
 
Appropriate dance attire required. 

Music Theatre & Vocal Performance:
-2 songs of contrasting nature:from the follow sources:Rodgers/Hammerstein--Lerner/Lowe--Schwartz(before 1990)--Bernstein--Herman--Sondheim(Before 1990)
 1 monologue: 2 minutes in length /contemporary--age appropriate
