Dr. Nicholas Suite Heads
Medical Professions Program
Dr. Nicholas Suite is a neurologist teaching two high school classes in the American Heritage Medical Professions Program. He is the Vice President of the Medical Staff at Memorial Hospital, Pembroke Pines; official neurologist for the Florida Panthers; and CEO of Neurology Associates Group, five multi-specialty doctors with offices from Kendall to West Palm Beach. Dr. Suite received his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University, and completed his residency at New York Hospital, Cornell University Medical Center.

The two classes taught by Dr. Suite, Honors Pathology: Introduction to Human Disease and Honors Genetics, have captured the interest of upperclassmen. Students in Dr. Suite’s classes have participated in several competitions to demonstrate their medical knowledge. These include the Brain Bee, a national test dealing with neuroscience, which consists of both oral and written components. Students compete to demonstrate knowledge of the brain in the test which is administered at Florida Atlantic University. In their first year of participation, Dr. Suite’s students placed second and third in the regional part of the competition against local high schools. Eight of the 20 finalists were American Heritage students.

Dr. Suite states that he is impressed with the level of dedication and intelligence of students in the program and believes that they have “great potential” for success in college, and later, in the medical community. “My goal is to mold them to handle the demands of any university to which they are accepted and to foster a strong interest in health professions.” In addition, he wants his students to be “well-grounded in the necessary abilities of reasoning and deduction, prepared for college level thinking.”
