American Heritage has four full time guidance counselors who help students and parents in all aspects of college selection and admissions. Students benefit from individualized counseling sessions in which they are advised on course selection, college selection and admission requirements. Our mission is to send our seniors off to universities that match their needs and expectations.
The Director of Guidance also serves as the Scholarship Specialist. A biweekly scholarship bulletin is mailed home to all seniors throughout the year, and students are encouraged to meet with the Scholarship Specialist regularly for assistance with finding and applying for scholarships.
The Director of College Planning leads group meetings with parents from 7 - 10th grades and offers an opportunity to meet one-on-one to discuss each student's preliminary ideas for the future. A College Fair of over 100 universities is held on our campus every October, and custom tours of colleges/universities throughout the country are organized for American Heritage students only.
Upon graduation, American Heritage students enter a wide variety of nationally renowned colleges and universities ranging from the University of Southern California, Yale, University of Pennsylvania, MIT, and Notre Dame to southeastern colleges like University of Miami, Emory, Tulane, Wake Forest, and the University of Florida. Our students average SAT Scores are a 570 in Math and a 560 in Verbal.
