Upper School Book Sales

School Year 2008-2009

ALL PARENTS AND STUDENTS:
PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ON THE UPPER SCHOOL BOOK SALE

AUGUST 13 (WEDNESDAY): GRADE 12: 9 am – 12 pm  Grade 11: 12 pm – 3 pm
AUGUST 14 (THRUSDAY): GRADE 10: 9 am – 12 pm Grade 9:  12 pm – 3 pm
AUGUST 15 (FRIDAY): GRADES 7 & 8: 9 am – 12 pm Grade 6:  12 pm – 5 pm



IMPORTANT NOTES PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Please note that service will be on a first come, first served basis. Numbers will be handed out beginning one hour before the book sale opening each day.

  1. The cost of the books, plus all fees must be paid in full for books to be received.  Checks, cash, VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS will be accepted. 
  2. The pictures for Student ID Badges will be taken at the book sale, so students must be present.
  3. If you have two or more Upper School students in your family, and are unable to come to the designated sale time for each child, come to the designated time for the student in the lower grade. Please be patient and expect a longer wait, as the sale is set up with books for the designated grades only. 
  4. Used books are available on a first come, first serve basis.  Come early for the best selection of used books!  Prices vary according to the condition of the books and are not negotiable. Used books being returned for credit will not be accepted at the book sale. 
  5. Credits from previously returned books may be applied to your book sale purchases and class fees.  Please bring your copy of the credit slip you received when you returned your books.  Your credit will also be on file at the book sale.


The following required fees will be assessed on your book invoice, and are to be paid in full at the book sale:

ACTIVITY FEE:
$295.00  (All students in grades 6-12) This fee covers a yearbook, PTO fee, admission to regular season athletic events played at home, and Fine Arts productions held on campus.

GRADUATION FEE (Seniors only): This fee covers the costs associated with graduation.

AP EXAM FEE: These fees cover the cost of the College Board Advanced Placement exams given in May to students enrolled in AP level courses subscription.

QUESTIA FEE: (All students in grades 6-12) This fee covers a subscription to the Questia online library/search engine that can be accessed at school and at home.

TEACH AMERICA PROGRAM FEE: Many of the upper school math and English classes include SAT preparatory materials.  These fees cover the cost of the in-class materials. 

OTHER COURSE FEES:Based on the students schedule, you may be assessed an additional course fee for classes, such as ceramics or science, to cover class materials.
