LOWER SCHOOL ART

  In Lower School Art we teach our students how to use and apply different medias, techniques and processes.  Using a variety of lessons,  we show these young artists how to create and communicate a wide range of subject matter, symbols and ideas.  We stress an understanding of the visual arts in history, Using age appropriate vocabulary, we discuss famous artists and their works.  We use a wonderful series of books, Adventures in Art, that contributes to these lessons.  We utilize many different projects to help our students learn about and become familiar with art from around the world, discussing their differences and similarities of other cultures in relation to our own.  Most important of all, not only do our fabulous young artists make “Great Art”, they have “Great Fun” doing it!
